Walk & Talk Therapy
Walking and spending time in nature benefits our minds, bodies, and spirits in so many ways. The therapeutic qualities of nature and movement provide an alternative to traditional therapy that will help keep you grounded, making it easier to talk about difficult feelings.
Research has proven that walking in nature decreases stress, anxiety, and depression. Interacting with nature also has physical benefits including a reduction in cortisol (the stress hormone), heart rate, and blood pressure.
Whether you decide to walk and talk, sit by the water, or a little of both, you will find that the beauty of nature helps put your mind at ease. Having something calming to focus on such as the ripples in the water, the coastal breeze, or the sounds of the seagulls helps to distract your mind from negative thinking leading to less rumination and worry.
At this time I'm offering outdoor sessions at various quiet scenic locations in Port Royal. Contact me for more information.
